I have to move the problem is I can not move into an apartment because my dog barks at everything. He will hear a sound in the house he barks, if a person passes by he barks, if we get up and make any noise he barks. It makes it really hard for us to get an apartment if he is going to be barking all the time. Does anyone have suggestions?
I remember hearing Cesar Millan say you need to stay calm while telling your dog to stop barking but also you have to make sure you have your dog’s full attention and you get them to submit completely before you move on. For instance, he says you shouldn’t yell from across the room at your dog. Also when you do get your dog’s attention, don’t just get them to stop for a second and then go back to what they were doing. He says you can get the dog’s attention with a certain sound, a physical correction or some times even just a certain look.
I’ll be honest, it all sounds easier said than done but that is what the expert says. I wish you luck.
One possibility to stop the bark is shaking a metal box with some money in it. Your dog should stop the bark. Then you should praise him. Repeat this every time he barks and after some weeks or months he should have learned how to behave.
Mohus said right thing and it is the true experience he shared with us.
