A Yorkshire Terrier is a small dog breed that maintains its small frame throughout its life. It may be the perfect dog for someone who likes a loyal lap dog. Yorkshire Terriers will sit in their owner’s lap and cuddle, much like a cat would.
Yorkshire Terriers are small yet territorial and protective animals. They are loyal to their owners and will bark when they feel their space, owner’s space, their territory, or the owner is being threatened. Yorkshire Terriers bark often! They get along with other dogs and like to be playful, although a watchful eye is necessary when they are playing with larger breed dogs. They get along great with other Yorkshire Terriers and it is encouraged to buy more than one from a litter so that they have family companionship.
Owners who have Yorkshire Terriers need to groom their long facial hair and clean them regularly. Many choose to trim the hair around the eyes or even tie it up so that the dog can see more easily. Yorkshire Terriers eat small breed dog food and are easy to feed and take care of. They are also an easily trained breed. Training a Yorkshire Terrier works well with small treats and commands. Yorkshire Terriers, therefore, make a great pet, friend, and companion.
