I have a cat who has been sterilised 3 times. Yup. Three times. It was the cat who would not stay out of heat, named Luna. I worked at a veterinarian clinic at the time, and I brought her in to be taken care of. She’d been a menace – purring all over the place, pushing her ass in your face, lifting her ass while stomping on the floor and rolling around like a mad kitten.

So I take her home, 4 peaceful weeks pass and she heals up good – until suddenly there is an ass in my face again. confounded, I confront the veterinarians I work with. They explain to me that once every 3 years, they get a case where this happens – apparently sometimes cats have ovarian tissue in odd places which gets missed in the original operation. However, when they open her up again, they find that the surgeon has forgotten to do the left side as well, and only the right side had been taken care of (something that can happen when the surgeon has had to spay one too many cats in a day, as they can’t remember which side they’ve done, apparently).

So, home we go. 4 weeks later, like clockwork, a big black ass in my face and crazy rolling around on my carpet. And back we go. This time, they believed it to be psychological, and gave her the feline ‘pill’, to test. Yup, it worked – so no, it wasn’t psychological.

She finally went into heat again after the pill wore off , and they found the last bit of oddly placed ovarian tissue the last time they operated. I was already joking about installing a zipper in that cat, coz seriously, it was getting ridiculous.

My vets were so *glad* that this had happened with one of their assistants as it would’ve left a really bad impression on a client if this had happened with them. Kudos to them though, as they did all the following surgeries for free, thank god.

So, what crazy situations have you been in with your fur balls?

That happened to a friend of mine. They found the cat on their door step one day and when she would get in heat she would do the same thing with her butt until they brought her into to get fixed. Then about a month or two later she starts doing the same things like when she was in heat but they figured it couldn’t be that since they already brought her to the vet. They let it go on for another month and when she started doing that again they brought her to a different vet. At the time she was really upset because she thought the first vet had ripped her off and nobody told us what you said about oddly placed ovarian tissue. Luckily the trip to the second vet did the trick and no more loud meowing and moaning and butt in face.

Our cat has been sterilized some months ago. Before the surgery we had thought, that she would stop rolling on the floor. However, she didn’t stop.

One day I was working in the kitchen Angelina came to me. She wanted to be stroked. So I started to touch her head and she started to roll and fell in the wash-bowl. She looked very confused as she recognized, that she fell in it.

I talked to my mother, who also operated our cat. She was also confused that Angelina doesn’t stop rolling. She told me she had operated on her very carefully. She said it was unbelievable that our cat had been operated. She only believes in this operation, because she did it herself.
