Hi Guys,

I am new to here and I wanted to say hello and also get some feedback on an idea I’m working on. I am going to design an automated feeder for dogs and cats.It can be programmed the meal times and food dispense controlled, and you can check your pets’ activities through APP while  you are away from home. The selling point is that it can self-clean its food tray, so you don’t need to clean the tray every day, even if you left your pets alone for few days, you don’t need to worry the smells.

Dears, is it attractive to you? thanks for your comments?

I possibly would if it had great design.   Are you talking about wet food or kibble?  The reason I ask is because I’ve never been concerned about cleaning the tray.. how would you clean it but keep it dry for kibble?  I do think it would be great to be able to monitor things with an app and be able to see what was happening.  It would also be valuable if the app told me how much food was eaten and also possibly had a webcam to keep an eye on things and/or provide a log of the times the pet ate.  How much would you sell this for?

hi Michael, thank you for your recognition, it is really encouraged to. here are main function about the feeder I am design, please give me your feedback, thanks.

Function1: auto feeding 1.Normal mode: program meal time and portion control 2. Slow-feeding mode: dispense little food slowing to prevent over-eat; control food dispensing through APP to interact with pet.   Function2: feeding tray self-clean After pet finishes meal and leaves, the cleaning brush starts to clean the remaining food to storage tray. Owners don’t need to clean the tray every day. And there is a fan behind the feeding tray to dry the feeding tray and storage tray and keep few days no smells. It will be useful in case you have to go out for days.   Function3: smart collar 1.  Identity recognition: 1.1 Recognize your pet from others to preventing food stealing 1.2 In multipet family, can program meal time and food portion for each pet 2. Monitoring function: when pet enters into sense area, feeder will send an message to owner, so owner can control through APP to turn on the camera to check pets’ activity, or supervise eating, or turn on voice function to talk to pets.   Function4. Water feeding 2.5L sealed water tank, ball water outlet, to lick for water   Function5: APP remote control: 1. Remote control feeding 2. Meal record 3. Remote video monitoring, to check pets’ activity, or supervise eating 4. Instant share with your friends about your pet

Tina – those do sound like great features.  I especially love teh smart collar idea.  I know developing apps can be time consuming but I think that’s really the thing that would cause me to purchase the device.  I love the idea of being able to monitor what is happening when I’m not at home.  I didn’t see anything about the physical design but I would hope that is was very sleek looking!  Good luck!

Michael, so exciting to hear from you.

May I know is there any other features you really want to have in a feeder?
