My tomcat loves sleeping in cardboard boxes. Sometimes he jumps into them and you doesn’t recognize that he is inside the box. One day my mother wanted to sort out old things. She filled some boxes with old junk. She didn’t recognize our tomcat in one box and closed it. Half an hour later she wanted to take this box. She stood just one meter away from it and didn’t think of our cat. Rigth in this moment Filou jumped out of the box and my mother was near to pass out.

One possibility to stop the bark is shaking a metal box with some money in it. Your dog should stop the bark. Then you should praise him. Repeat this every time he barks and after some weeks or months he should have learned how to behave.

I can only recommend you to talk to a vet. He can give you special medicine for your dog. You should also conserve his joints and be sure that he doesn’t jump to much. You can also cool his joints.

Thanks so far for these first ideas to socialize my dog. I gave some thought to taking her to an obedience class. That might just be the best way. I think one of the problems is, that a doberman almost killed her in her childhood. That happened before she came to us. Another problem is that we live in a house with a vet clinic in it so she has to hear and smell other dogs every day. She barks in our apartment to scare the other dogs off.

I already tried to let her play with some of our friends’ dogs. Sometimes I also try it without a leash, but she is always aggressive. She seems to try to protect me from the other dogs.

Thanks again for your help. I think I will follow your advices and I will talk to a professional dog trainer.

Our cat has been sterilized some months ago. Before the surgery we had thought, that she would stop rolling on the floor. However, she didn’t stop.

One day I was working in the kitchen Angelina came to me. She wanted to be stroked. So I started to touch her head and she started to roll and fell in the wash-bowl. She looked very confused as she recognized, that she fell in it.

I talked to my mother, who also operated our cat. She was also confused that Angelina doesn’t stop rolling. She told me she had operated on her very carefully. She said it was unbelievable that our cat had been operated. She only believes in this operation, because she did it herself.

My dog is 6 years old and a little dachshund. She is without fear during a thunderstorm, but sometimes she starts barking. I think she thought it was another barking dog and answered him. The same happens with fireworks.
