Our cats always threw up if we changed their food brand too quickly instead of mixing old and new.

Maybe get some large treats and hide them in various spots in your yard then take him on a leash and have him search for them. Its a way to keep his mind active since he is a German. Just an idea!

Our first dog was adopted from Petfinder and our second dog wandered up to our house last year. I agree those types of dogs (adopted/strays/etc.) make the best because they are THANKFUL for their homes and for you taking them in.

I have friends that train their hunting dogs using training collars (Sport Dog brand). They swear by them! In your case you were def. wanting to keep your dogs safety in mind so reminding him with a beep or small shocked controlled him. I see no problem in them as long as they are used in a responsible and efficient way. IMO.

Maybe before you take her on a walk go hide a toy somewhere with a treat so she can hunt for it. Just an idea.

One of my friends pug is named Chin Chin. I think its supposed to be something Indian Chief related or so.
