AussieLover, I had two Netherland Dwarf recently and they were so cute but I had to keep them in the barn. They were the ones I gave away to my friend and she keeps them as house pets. They are so much happier now.

My sister used to have several hedgehogs. They are extremely cute. She had a couple who were cuddly. It depends on the temperment of the individual hedgehogs. If they trust you, they can be very nice pets. Otherwise, look out for the quills!

Could be an allergic reaction. My dog had one after being bathed at a groomers. I think it was a reaction to the shampoo they used.

Have you tried animal communication? It helps to get down to the real reason the kitten is frustrated. It may be something you never even thought of.

My niece had an iguana. She loved it and kept it in her bedroom. One day we were visiting and my coonhound dog went into her room and began barking. We ran in and found the dog had treed the iguana on a high shelf! The iguana wasn’t hurt, but I felt bad and I’m sure he was scared.

I’ve studied with many different natural trainers. They all tell you to be the leader for your horse and show you techniques with round pens, sticks and strings to accomplish this. However, they don’t teach the most important thing of all, how to find true leadership from within!
I went on a journey to find what was missing and found a system t…[Read more]

You may also consider a gaited breed. And I hear Morgan’s make good endurance horses, as well as Mustangs.

I’m hoping my older dog’s fears aren’t going to be taught to the younger one. So far, he seems to not be as fearful, but he also seems to worry about the older dog when she is being afraid.

My dogs usually have several names,
-the name we give them originally
-the name we call them most often
-their own unique dog name we may never know
Like I had a dog named Navaho Eagle, but we called him Pete. I have a dog now named Rocky and we call him Tweets. We had a dog named Odie, and we called her Potus. My cat’s name is April An…[Read more]

A friend of mine has had two Labradoodles and they were both very good pets. They are so pretty and they don’t shed as much as other dogs. Her Labradoodle is high energy and loves to play. I’ve heard people who have allergies to dogs can have a Labradoodle with a lot less symptoms.

I’m starting this thread under hamsters since rabbits are the same type of pet. I have four rabbits, three female and one male. They are the really big breeds, Flemish Giant and California mixes and they live outdoors.
I have a friend who has gotten several rabbits from us for pets and they live in her home and are extremely pampered. I’m cu…[Read more]

Evergreen replied to the topic Throwing Up in the forum Cat Nutrition & Health 11 years, 4 months ago
I’ve had cats for many years and throwing up is pretty common. It can be from many different things. Changing the brand of food you are giving them sometimes helps. Hair balls are a definite cause, especially for long haired cats. And feeding smaller portions more often, as stated above, is good. I have found they tend to throw up more whe…[Read more]

I have never ‘bought’ a dog. My dogs have always come from either ‘free puppy’ ads or from the local humane association. I love mixed breed dogs and find them to be healthier and have better dispositions than most pure breds. I highly recommend rescuing your next dog from a shelter. They are usually very grateful!

I have a German Shepherd mix, male, about 5 years old who is not at all interested in dog toys. I’ve tried all kinds from rope pulls to chewy things, soft things, even a stuffed squirrel. He is not interested, won’t even take them in his mouth. I can’t play fetch; he ignores it.
He is very food oriented, so if I put peanut butter in a Kong to…[Read more]

I have a small grey tabby cat who is a female and we call her Bob. It is short for Squirrely Bob because she is a very active cat who loves to play. Her favorite toy is twist ties and she chases them around the floor.
She also likes to hang off the fabric back of my kitchen chairs and act like a monkey!
What is the funnies thing your cat does?

Evergreen replied to the topic How does your dog react to thunder? in the forum Dogs General 11 years, 4 months ago
My dog is also afraid of thunder. So much that she now associates rain with thunder and is afraid of rain. I’ve tried the ThunderShirt with no help. Mostly I have to sit with her and hold her while she shakes and drools. I feel so bad for her.

When I first learned animal communication, my horse talked to me about the importance of ‘just be’. He asked me to breathe and invited me to join him in the pasture and just be with him. It was a very powerful experience and I love to do it with him often.
What has your horse taught you?
